Hi! Welcome to my blog, and if this is your first time opening my site and reading a post of mine, then I’m glad that you’re here. I’ve been working on changing the face of my writing, and wanted to put out a semi-informal post about who I am, and what I do. My name is Eden, and this is my outdoors focused blog.

I’ve lived in Northern Ontario for my whole life, born and raised in the Lake Superior area. I spent every summer growing up on the lake, and developed a love for nature that has grown bigger in the last few years as I’m really able to appreciate where I live. I’ve been able to spend a lot of time in Lake Superior Provincial Park, and one of my goals for the following year(s) is to branch out and explore other areas that are further from home. I’m writing about the outdoors, but I really haven’t ventured far beyond the eastern shores of Lake Superior, except on vacations funded by my parents. That being said, my camera roll is a testament to how much I really do enjoy getting outside and seeing where I can go and what I can discover close to home.

This pic was taken from one of my fav places along the lake, do you know where it is?

Given that I have an abundance of pictures in my camera roll and I post so many things on my social media pages that relate to the outdoors, I figured why not also write about the things that I get up to outside and share how others can too, amongst other things.

I don’t have a perfect vision yet of what I hope to do here, but I can give you a bit of insight as to what I’ve got in mind. First of all, I want to share pictures and details from various outings, kind of like a journal or diary of what I was up to that day, a day in the life, if you will. I also want to incorporate tips and tricks about different aspects to getting outdoors, like what to bring on a hike, or where to go to enjoy nature when your limited to a certain area. I might also throw in the odd specific fun fact about the elements, or just make note of something that I find interesting. While everything is covered in snow, you’ll likely see a mix of posts featuring recent outings, and posts that cover previous ones from other seasons. Starting out, my motto is going to be “anything goes,” being that if an ideas pops into my head relating to the outdoors, I’ll probably try to work it to fit on here.

Current situation that we’ve been seeing on the lake

With this new vision and purpose of my blog, I guess I could consider myself an outdoors blogger, in the works, anyway. Is there any guideline or criteria I have to meet for that title? I don’t think so. Heck, I’ve titled my blog Outdoors With Eden, I think the message is there, and if the blogger title police want to tell me I can’t call myself that, come and get me. Anyway, that’s all from me. Thanks for reading, and I hope you’ll be back again sometime!
