Hello everyone! You’re reading my first post of 2022! A little later than I expected I will admit… Anyway, this is going to be a two part blog post considering the events of my break. But with this post you’ll get the rundown of the things I actually did do!

Everyone in my house agreed that the Christmas season didn’t really get much of a kick start, considering the rising Covid cases in my area and a lack of parties. We made do with decorating and getting into the festive mood ourselves. I went to ONE Christmas “gathering” before Christmas. Despite only going one, it felt like now the season had really started.

Tree and fire at camp early on the new year morning

Christmas day gatherings were limited this year, and I’ll get into that later, but you might already have an idea of what it will be. In general, the winter season excites me for many many reasons, but a big one of those being the food food food. These foods aren’t necessarily different than I usually eat, just foods that usually get reserved for occasions or the holidays. And of course I will include pictures, because how could I not?

I spent my New Years at camp as my family has every year before, and the whole weekend is usually spent as catching up on sleep in the morning, adventures during the day, a sauna at night, and some type of card game later in the night. On New Years eve, a few families on the beach get together for dinner, and the food I must say is immaculate.

And of course, an annual thing that often gets questioned

After coming home after New Years weekend, my main focus was school and refreshing myself. I enjoyed my time with family, but my social battery was worn out by the time it was done. I hope everyone enjoyed a break from school, work, or just life in general, and if your break is still going on, I definitely envy you, but I’m happy to get back to a routine. Have a great Friday everyone and don’t forget to look for part two in the coming days!
