It’s hard to believe that summer is already over! While I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things and routine, I feel like summer flew by way too fast. It almost feels as if it didn’t happen. In order to reminisce and prove to myself that summer really did happen, today I’m writing about what I did this past summer. But don’t worry, I’m going to keep it sweet and condensed!
My summer really started when I submitted my last assignments and closed my laptop, finishing my grade ten year. Hopefully the stresses of online school won’t carry into this school year. Once school was off my mind, it was time to get a start on my summer.
My first real “it’s summer” thing I did was take our annual trip to Ottawa. Things were different due to covid, but we made the most of everything, spent lots of time walking, and had a great trip!

Once I got home, it was time for regular summer activities. I visited my brothers remote camp in basically the middle of nowhere, and enjoyed the peace, quiet, and utter serenity.

I also spent lots of time kayaking and hiking up the coast of Lake Superior, taking in all of its beauty.

I also enjoyed catching many many sunsets on the water and capturing them on my phone.

I also took time to enjoy not just my sixteenth birthday, but also my best friend’s!

This summer definitely didn’t stay too long, but I did what I could to enjoy it! I spent a ton of time at my camp and on the water, as well as working and surrounding myself with friends. I’m excited to see what the coming school year brings and how I’ll keep myself busy! Thanks for reading!
