I feel like I start my posts the same way lately, by telling everyone just how busy I am. And that’s just the truth. But today I’m going to give you a little look into one of the things that’s been keeping me busy – volunteer work. There are so many different ways that you can help out in your community that all require different amounts of time and energy, yet all make a big difference in someone’s life. So today I’m going to talk to you about a few of the things I’ve done.

A couple of weeks ago I volunteered with a few friends at the Salvation Army to package food bags for seniors in certain areas of the city. After we finished up with that we also packed some lunches that get handed out to anyone who comes to get one on specific days. It was really interesting to see first hand how fortunate I am just to have access to a simple thing like food when I want it. It might not always be exactly what I want to eat, but it’s there, it nutritious, and it keeps me going. Next time your community has some sort of food drive or other organized donation, please consider donating some non-perishable items! And your local food bank always always always accepts donations.

On the topic of donating, one of the my favourite coffee places was accepting school supplies recently with school slowly approaching. You may not always see people lacking a lot of school supplies. That’s because of different organizations that make sure students that need it get it. So if you get the chance, try to donate even just a small amount. A little goes a long way!

There’s always something you can do to make a difference in the world around you. Even if it’s small and you don’t see it play out, it can affect someone else’s life in a positive. Just by knowing there are people that care about them. So remember, the next time you get the chance, do what you can to make a difference in your community! Especially with school close approaching, there are always ways to help out in some way no matter how old you are.

I hope you found today’s post an interesting read and that it gave you some insight as to the things you don’t see in your community. School is starting up soon so I’m soon to find out whether that will make me more or less busy! We’ll find out soon by the number of posts I get out in September. Happy Monday and have a great week everyone!
