Hey everyone. If you hadn’t noticed, I’ve kinda been MIA for the past two weeks. Simply put, I’ve been crazy busy and between work, spending time visiting family, and taking time to relax so I can keep my sanity, I simply have not had the time to get out a blog post. Which upsets me because I do enjoy actually taking to thine to put my thoughts into words for other people to read! Today I’m going to talk about the importance of talking a break when life gets overwhelming and chaotic.
While surrounding yourself with friends and people is important, I often find myself “shutting down” when my social battery has worn out. By this I mean I’ll just keep to myself for a day or two and completely want to be alone. And that’s totally okay and normal! I’ll use that time to read a book, do some baking, or simply be lazy and do nothing productive at all.

I’ve also been working basically full time hours. While I enjoy making money and being able to save for things, a break is definitely necessary after a ten hour shift. And after working for a few days, I usually find myself trying to fit in as much as I can in my days off, which completely wears me out. In the odd time when I’m not doing things with other people, I end up scrolling through different apps on my phone, which tends to be a fine break for me.
On the social aspect, I’ve also been spending a lot of time with family as my cousins that live about 9 hours south of us are up for a visit. I enjoy seeing family, but breaks are also essential. We all usually find our own time at different points in the day to stray away from the crowd and be in our own little bubble for a bit. I’m sitting upstairs typing this on my phone right now!

Simply put, when life gets busy, don’t forget to take a break. Having time to yourself is important. It’s good to keep yourself busy and enjoy time with others, but breaks are due at some point. Don’t over exhaust yourself! It’s not worth it. I’ve taken a bit of a break and I’m ready to get back on track with things, meaning I’ll hopefully have more blog posts out soon! Thanks for reading!
