Since things are starting to open back up in Ontario, I wanted to share some of my favourite small businesses in my area. Before I get into that, I just wanted to give you all a quick explanation for the lack of posts. I’ve been super busy lately with it being the last two weeks of school and cramming to get assignments in. I’ve also been doing some outdoor workouts, now that that’s aloud. But anyway, with the school year coming to an end, you should be expecting more posts from be, but lets get started with the real reason you’re here.

I’m going to get right to my point and start with the first business. After grocery shopping, my mom and I often like to stop in at this small little indie type café just a short walk form our Metro. It’s called Scott’s Coffee Co. They have the best lemonade and roast amazing coffee. The also serve a variety of decadent cheesecakes and other bakery items. You can also stop in for a wrap or other lunch item. My personal favourite is an Arnold Palmer (lemonade and iced tea) paired with a slice of Oreo cheesecake.

This was just little peek inside when the store was only open for pickup, and no indoor dining.

Another favourite café is Mane Street Salon and Spa. Don’t let the name fool you, there’s a café when you first walk in, and a salon and spa in the back. They also serve delicious drinks, lunches, and bakery items. They have a cute patio in the centre of downtown with very picturesque outdoor scenery. I had their hot chocolate and it was sooooo good. Super smooth and chocolatey. I also devoured the muffin I got as you can probably tell by the picture. Definitely recommend this cute cafe.

The buildings in the back make our city look a lot nicer than people say it is.

If you’re not in the mood for a coffee or cold drink, I love getting a gelato in a waffle cone form the Gelato Mill by the Boardwalk. They’re in a great location and have the best gelato I’ve ever had (not to mention it’s a great price). They also happen to serve Starbucks coffee, refreshers, and frappuccino’s, so there’s a bonus for people like me. But seriously when I say the best gelato, I mean the best gelato. They have so many amazing flavours.

I love the birthday cake gelato, and the nutella brownie.

Enough about coffee and things you can eat, let’s talk about my favourite local small business to accessorize your look. Kayla’s Art Mart has the cutest handmade jewelry with a variety of products, and they’re all handmade. You can find her on Instagram @kaylasartmart and on Etsy with the same name. When I want to buy jewelry local, this business is definitely my go to. If you like the products and want to purchase some, you can use my discount code “Eden15” to save yourself some money!

All of these reviews and recommendations are 100% my own and nobody is sponsoring me or paying me to say them. I am a brand rep for Kayla’s Art Mart, but I don’t get asked to leave reviews like this on my blog, so my response is fully mine and very true. If you live in the area, I’d consider checking these businesses out and supporting them in a time like this. I like supporting small and local because I like the vibe of these places better than some big chain store (Starbucks is my only exception…) and I’m helping to keep them open and running. There’s just a different feel to walking into a small store and sitting down to enjoy whatever I purchased. I hope you’ll consider visiting one of these places next time you can! If anyone you know is looking for a new business to buy from, share this post with them. That’s all from me!
